Get active with Birminghams Be Active campaign

Be active is a Birmingham-wide scheme designed to help everyone increase their physical activity.

Whatever you're into, taking part could help you to feel better and give you more energy. It could help you lose weight, reduce the risk of illness and even boost your confidence.

All these activities are FREE if you've got a Leisure Card:

  • Swimming (during public swimming sessions)
  • Running and walking sessions with a group leader
  • Fitness Gym (Monday-Friday before 5pm, Weekends after 1pm)
  • Group fitness classes (Monday-Friday before 5pm, Weekends after 1pm)
  • ICE Youth Gyms (8-16 year olds, during normal opening hours)

There are a wide range of activities available at your local Council leisure facilities across the city.

Be active, apply for your FREE Leisure Card today and start enjoying all the benefits.

The Be Active scheme is an easy way to enjoy swimming, gym and classes for free, but if you can't always attend these sessions remember there are plenty of other ways to get active.

Any activity that gets your heart beating and blood pumping faster is good. For example, try taking the dog for a long walk, get off the bus/train one stop earlier and walk the rest of the way, walk to your local shops rather than driving/using public transport, walk/cycle to the park for fun and games with the kids, take the stairs instead of the lift. It doesn't really matter what you do, as long as you do it!
